Comics about cartoon balls probably wouldn't be as sad, but these comics are about us.

• The whole Depression Month contest that was hosted on Reddit's /r/polandball board, culminating in more edgy depression.
• 'Depression Month' was popular enough to have a sequel, and the community delivered - if anything, the second contest is even more distilled Tear-Jerker than the first.

It's saddest that way because it basically means England made a joke at Ireland's expense, while STARVING them! Saddest of all, those two are based on real events, The Potato Famine.

• It's hard not to feel sorry for Spain when he grieves for his long-lost empire in this comic. Drowning My Sorrows at its finest, and it also shows that UK is not so different from him, despite their Gibraltar dispute.
• The UN crying while imagining the world in peace, which is impossible to become a reality at this point.
  • Cue Israel and Palestine hanging out together at the third panel, both feeling happy and content with each other. It is probably the only moment in any Polandball comics where they are not fighting or hating each other.
• This comic involving ◊ Reichtangle is pretty depressing, due to the realization that he only anschluss everyone in his sight. As the result, he takes his own life in the end of the comic.

  Reichtangle: Ich am useless, no friends, no family, only anschluss... Ist goodbye time.

• An example from the Polandball community: brain4breakfast, one of the more prolific artists on the /r/Polandball Reddit subreddit, passed away in February 2019. This video contains several prominent members of the community reacting to the news.
• Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds, which shows America's regret over having created nuclear weapons, and even compares himself negatively to Death the Horseman.
